My Students

My students are awesome! I have an extremely diverse population of students. I teach Art 1 and have about one hundred and fifty students total.

What makes my school unique is the international students; students coming to the United States from foreign countries and living in Cincinnati are enrolled at my school.

My students are from many different areas of the world including Nepal, Guatemala and Africa just to name a few. Students work hard every day learning to speak English and adapt to their new environment. They love culture and art, and I love letting them experience it in my art room.

My Project

The last year has been a challenging time for us all. These students have shown such resilience and determination to continue to do great. I want to have materials readily available for next year to start the year on a wonderful note. I am so happy to begin the Fall with some sense of normalcy! The tagboard and acrylic paint set will be used for an assignment that helps the classroom community get to know one another. The sharpies and tempera cakes will be utilized for a classroom collaborative project to build a sense of community. I want to allow the children to use my printer for images to help inspire their work, so the printer ink is needed! The hand sanitizer and wipes will continue to be used to keep surfaces clean and ready to work on. The students enjoy using felt tip pens to draw along with the black permanent markers.

After the last year of uncertainty and constant changes, I hope returning to school full time and beginning a fresh new start will help us all!
