Urban Youth Healing Oasis

Help me give my students a therapeutic center for engaging in meditation, yoga, trauma/grief and art therapy. It is my goal to provide yoga mats and comfortable furnishings to create an oasis for healing.

My Project

I am a social worker and yoga instructor working with youth in a low-income urban high school located in New Orleans.

Our kids experience the loss of loved ones due to gun violence and deportations at an alarming rate.

They don't have access to out-patient therapeutic counseling. My role is to provide much-needed trauma/grief therapy to youth who can't access it otherwise.

Our kids deserve to receive mental health care in a safe and beautiful space. This is why I am asking for yoga mats, journals, chairs and a rug to begin building a healing oasis for our kids who most need it and won't have it without the support of donors.
