My Students

My students are high achieving, highly motivated, socioeconomicly mixed group of amazing humans that are curious and hungry about the world around them. The school is in a rural area that some live in but some come to the school from more suburban parts, all of them come to engage in learning. They are highly motivated in the pursuit of standards mastery, entrenched in what is happening in the world and where there place may be. They want nothing more to succeed and make a difference.

My Project

These materials will provide a plethora of informational texts to my students that will meet them at every learning style and reading level. This magazine engages with current events and frames them in a manner where kids sit up and pay attention to the world around them and are able to respond in meaningful and productive ways in order to become educated and responsive citizens as well as thoughtful consumers of informational text. Since it is a monthly subscription they will remain fresh and up to date engaging students and intermingling disciplines and curriculum so their learning will expand to all their classes.
