Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Cathy Davidson, a professor at Duke University said, "You can't take on 21st century tasks with 20th century tools and expect the job to get done." Now that the new common core state standards are out, it is important that we integrate technology into the classroom.
My students are amazing!
They are all active learners that strive each and every day to improve in both academics and social interactions. Every day they come to school with a passion to learn and it is my job to provide them with the drive to continue that love of learning.
My Project
Not only will students be able to see their classmates daily broadcasts on a correctly working television the way they are intended to be seen and heard, but it will also allow us the capability for students to create future presentations and play them through the new television. Like Davidson said, we must move forward with technology using enhanced tools.
The projector we use each and every day in class is our key piece of technology and the current bulb that is in it is near the end. If it were to go out, kids work, participation, presentations, power points, and integrated videos would no longer be available. We would like to get a new bulb before our progress gets halted. In addition to the cables, bulb, and television, a new projection screen is crucial. We have been using an undersized screen with no word on if we will get a new one due to the budget. Daily teachings are often times cut off or unseen due to our current undersized projection screen.
With the state budget changing and our underfunding, often times technology gets passed up due to other expenses.
I know that our community wants the best for our students, so this is why I am coming out and asking for help! Our district has always done the best for our students because we care and our community members care! Please help us by donating some for some items that will make a difference now!
