My Students
My students come from various socioeconomic, race, religious, and cultural backgrounds. They are bright-eyed and excited about learning. My students love learning and engaging in meaningful activities.
Our classroom fosters a love for learning through different experiences.
Many students do not have the background knowledge that you would expect a child their age to have. I try to provide students with experiences that will impact their lives not only while they are in my classroom but that they can take with them throughout their lives.
My Project
I work with young children, many of which need to move or be comfortable in order to focus on their work. Sitting in a hard chair all day is distracting and uncomfortable. While our classroom has some choices, I would love to provide a wider variety of choices for my students. Also, with the recent pandemic, I want to add choices that can be easily disinfected each day.
A comfy place to sit, will aid in the students ability to focus on their work!
Students who are comfortable or have choice in their seating work longer and are able to engage for longer periods of time. When students are engaged and comfortable, they retain information at a higher rate.
