This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year brings about a new change for myself, a new school and new grade level! My class is made up of 21 students from a variety of backgrounds. I have students from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and various parts of the US. Fifth grade is an exciting time and each of my students bring something new and creative to offer to our class community.
The school itself sits in a neighborhood that is considered historic and is home to many ESL families.
Our school is a Title I community that desires to serve and grow our students.
My Project
This project contains a variety of materials to help my learners and our classroom. Batteries for when our clocks and lightbulbs in lamps die to keep us in a soft learning environment. Astrobrights paper to make learning engaging when it comes to our interactive notebooks (as well as scissors for cutting things) and parent newsletters. I'm always looking for new flex seating options, and these lap desks will start us on a new adventure. Other materials will help us hang student work, anchor charts and other items on the walls. Thank you for your consideration of our class project and for adding to our class community!
