This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach two sections of 3rd grade math, science and social studies at an inner city, high need school. My students do not have the chance to use up-to-date technology at home or in school.
My students do not have the chance to use up-to-date technology at home or in school. I would like my students to be able to scan their work and create a digital portfolio to share with their parents at parent-teacher conferences. I would like to have student lead conferences with the students showing their parents what they have done in class. We do not have access to a copy machine so making copies of work the students have done is a challenge. I would also be able to scan materials for the students, save them as a PDF and then print them on my printer.
We need a flat bed scanner so that my students will be able to learn how to make a digital portfolio of their work to share with their parents. This scanner will help the students learn more about technology and also allow students to present their knowledge in digital form.
With your help it will be possible for my students to get the best education possible, and be exposed to material that they would otherwise never learn.
