Updated Technology for Kindergarten

My Students

I teach Kindergarten in a Title 1 school, which means that over 80% of our students come from low-income families. All students receive free breakfast and lunch as well as a school provided healthy snack. Every student in my class comes to school ready to learn. They ask many questions throughout the day and are making significant progress in the short time we have been in school. I am eager to give my students the digital support they need to live in a technology driven world.

My Project

During the kindergarten years, students are building the foundation for their school career and educational needs. This looks different for every single child in my classroom. I am trying to update our technology so each child as a chance to practice their skills on an individual level. Most educational apps do not work with our current iPads. With these new iPads, my students will be able to log on to their own profiles and practice their skills to master before they continue onto first grade. These skills include spelling, reading, number sense, number fluency, addition, subtraction and so much more.
