My students are hard workers and great kids! They work well together on group projects and games. They are inclusive to all students in our class. They help one another when they see a classmate is struggling with something. My students are very curious and love learning about new things. They are excellent role models to the younger children in our school. My students are always willing to help. They make me enjoy coming to work each day! Plain and simple, they are the best kids ever!
My Project
Our flexible seating options have been well used and loved for the past 2 years, and our seats are getting worn out!
Two years ago, I did a lot of research on flexible seating and purchased all sorts of seating for my students from Ikea, Marshalls, Walmart, etc.
Items included are pillows, 2 bench seats with storage cubbies/containers, exercise balls, 4 medium height stools, 2 high top stools, 8 low stools, 1 Lego table, 4 scoop seats, 6 seat cushions, etc. The kids love the option of where to sit and what to sit on, and their focus is much better. I have had to retire/throw out some of the seating options due to wear and tear. I would LOVE to continue to offer flexible seating with some new and updated options. We would appreciate your support in this update for our classroom!
The portable desks will be used for group work and for when we are using the Chromebooks. The desks will enable the kids to sit on the floor with computers and write comfortably and neatly when doing group work on the floor/in the hall.
The exercise ball bases will prevent the balls from rolling all over the room (current problem). I added one more exercise ball since our 5th one had popped. The exercise ball seating enables kids to strengthen their core for better posture and allows them to focus better.
The wobble stools are a nice change from our traditional stools​ since they allow the kids to tip back and forth without falling off their seats. Our traditional stools have all broke, and the custodians have been kind enough to screw them back together (the life of the stools is pretty limited).
