Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I have chosen are real books that students can read without looking at a screen. They are new, culturally responsive, and are engaging. They are also interest-based, which means there is a larger variety of choices and genres. I have included mysteries, and even lower-level books for my students who are not yet reading at grade level. These can be used during independent reading time in my room, or checked out from me and borrowed if they do not have reading materials at home. I am excited for the opportunity to give my students more interest-based options at their grade or independent reading level!
