My Students
Art allows us to explore humanity near and far, old and new. At our school, our goals include creating opportunities for our students to do just that! Art is one of the most powerful tools we use to reach our students. As the art teacher, I have the privilege of working with every single one of them!
My students come from many ethnic, linguistic, and social backgrounds.
Nearly 60% of my students come from low-income households. For the majority of the students, English is their second language. The arts are critical for ALL students to show what they know, think, and feel and to develop the necessary 21st-century skills required to be successful in this rapidly changing and interconnected world.
My Project
My students love using technology in the Art Studio. Unfortunately, our Art room iPads are over ten years old and they won't update to the latest operating systems that support the latest versions of the apps we use.
Students use iPads in the Art Studio to create stop motion animation, coding, digital drawings, videos, photography, and so much more!
Help us to get back up and running with newer model iPads that will allow students to access the apps they love to use to create and express themselves in art class.
