My Students
My classroom is Automation and Robotics in Engineering. My students are learning about great technology but many have never used a drone and will not experience the technology without this grant. We are an active class always hands on with technology.
My students are incredibly instead in drone technology.
We are a school trying to grow our engineering program and fill the technology gaps for students. We currently offer a drone class in our high school but most students don't have experience with this technology because of the cost associated with drones.
The focus of my school is to provide students a high quality positive learning environment and experiences with technology they have never had before. A very high percentage of students that attend my school come from a low SES. I want to offer them the opportunity to lean an incredible technology and potentially spark an interest in the ever growing field of drones.
My Project
My students will discuss the engineering and science involved in drones and how they work. They will also take the drones out and fly them to gain experience using drones. The goal is to increase interest in the field of drones. Students will also discuss what could make a drone fly high, faster, and farther. Students will use the engineering design process to evaluate the drones.
My project will make a huge impact in these students.
Most of my students have never seen a drone in real life. Having the ability to actually see one work will open so many doors to future careers that they would not have without this grant.
