I teach 12–14 year olds, and giving them the opportunity to safely learn with professional-quality equipment has been an incredible gift to our classroom.\r\n\r\nThis semester, I have four classes dedicated entirely to 3D sculpture, which means there is a great deal of measuring, planning, and cutting involved. Thanks to your donations, my students have been able to build things they never thought possible before. They used the new styrofoam cutting machine to create intricate cuts for their first sculpture assignment, where they were challenged to deconstruct and reconstruct styrofoam cups into original works of art. The tool allowed them to make detailed cuts that would have been nearly impossible with scissors or traditional craft knives.\r\n\r\nFor their second major project, students are constructing cardboard sculptures using the new box cutters, craft knives, and large cutting mats. The cutting mats have certainly protected our classroom tables throughout this process! The ChompSaw cardboard cutting machines have been an especially exciting addition. Students feel empowered using equipment that resembles wood working tools, and the machines make smooth, curved cuts that are often difficult with other types of cutting tools.\r\n\r\nOur next project will focus on creating miniature rooms complete with furniture and detailed accessories. Students will continue to utilize all of the materials and tools made possible through your generosity. Because of you, they are not only building sculptures — they are building confidence, problem-solving skills, and pride in their craftsmanship.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students' creativity and for making hands-on, meaningful learning possible in our art classroom. Your support truly makes a lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1762803921096,"projectUrl":"project/shaping-the-future-building-3d-creativi/9878559/","projectTitle":"Shaping the Future: Building 3D Creativity in Junior High","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chandler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10343112_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y463&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1771004845004","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10343112"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56506","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":491,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":87,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.8,"schoolId":56506,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Beebe Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Beebe Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/beebe-school-district/beebe-junior-high-school/56506"}
