Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we explore aviation, what a better way to allow students to explore what they learn by flying kites outside. My students will be discussing wind patterns, climate, and weather and how all these factors will affect how high our kites will fly. Learning about aviation will help increase my students understanding about the weather as well as spark interest in learning more on this topic.
Many of my students have different interests.
Adding aviation to our topics has allowed my boys and my girls to be interested in how the wind and weather change. The idea of flying kites will be a way of testing what we have learned.
My students will also have the opportunity to build and design their very own airplane and watch it take off. They will discover that if their airplane doesn't fly high or it takes a short distance that it has to do with the weather or the design of their plane. The card stock will help my students have a durable plane to fly and the markers will be used to decorate and design their own plane.
I am excited for my students to discover the fun things that can happen with aviation.
