This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every year we welcome a new group of students who become a classroom family. Many of our students come from low-income backgrounds where their caregivers are unable to provide basics such as pencils, markers, and erasers. Some students also come to school hungry and although they receive breakfast provided by the school it is just not enough to sustain them throughout the day. The snacks will help them become focused and motivated to complete all of their tasks throughout the day. A hungry child cannot be expected to perform the same as a child that isn't hungry.
By allowing my classroom to be that safe space where they can have snacks, they will want to try their best and come to school each day.
The basics as well as the ink and command hooks will allow me to print resources for each child to access and use. Command hooks are easy to install and make for a more student-centered classroom where resources are at eye level and easy to access to students. The Febreze will allow our classrooms to stay hygienic and smell nice throughout the school year.
