Help me give my students a chance to go beyond the classroom and interact with actual specimens that they would otherwise only be able to access through pictures on the internet.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds including low-income families.
My students are eager to earn their IB diploma and for this reason, they are often very self-motivated.
The textbook they have been issued does not have a lot of pictures and I hope to use these materials to help them visualize the topics that we study.
In order to organize these materials, I am hoping to gather some storage bins in order to keep materials clean and organized.
My Project
Students will be able to use these materials to examine the details of foreign specimens. They will be able to look closely and formulate questions based on their observations. These materials will able to be used in our classification series of lessons that we cover during ecology. Students will also be able to reuse these materials when we dive into our evolution topics of our curriculum. They will be able to hypothesize how the animals formed various adaptations and how they are used to benefit the animal in various ways.
