Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Exploring the world should be the vision for every child. My children work so hard to imagine the world around them but are limited to what they see. The use of a digital iPad will open their world to the different aspects of the natural world around them.
My students are from various cultures and economic backgrounds.
Our schools is a K-8 center which is 60 years old and lacks in various technological areas. It would be a pleasure to use the iPad to connect to our projector to show images of various real world examples of the content we are learning in the classroom. In addition, I would be able to show student work and post videos of their work on our classroom website.
My Project
A picture can tell a million words, and a digital image can tell a million stories. My intention is to begin to tell a million stories through the eyes of the digital portal. With the addition of the iPad we can begin to use the different apps offered through this technology which are not compatible with the outdated technology at my current school.
I know this will enhance the learning of my students as we create our projects throughout the school year. One in particular is the Fairchild Garden Challenge where our students will participate for the first time using multiple medias to submit their mask of insects. Also they will use the iPad to record their milestones as they complete their first academic school year in kindergarten.
This project is so important as we educate the future.
In order to promote a vast wealth of science knowledge our children will begin to discover the world at their fingertips with a touch of a button. We are excited to see the results because my students are worth the cost.
