This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our kindergarten students are eager to learn and are full of questions! They love coming to school each day and are always ready to try new things!
We want to create an environment where our students feel comfortable and can have fun learning and exploring!
Yes, even during virtual learning!!
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are an incredible group, and we are so lucky and thankful to have a group of learners that are excited and ready to learn!
My Project
We have many wonderful resources at our school. We are one-for-one with iPads for every student and much more. Even with our exceptional technology, and immediate access to the internet, there are still many important activities that are only available to us in print, and many of those we cannot afford for everyone to have their own, and/or it would not be the best way to foster learning.
One of the most effective techniques with young students is to visually model a task-so that they can all see the same thing at the same time.
Students being able to watch the teacher model correct writing procedures, and many other small scale fine motor tasks is critical! A document camera and an Apple pen would help my students visually see what tasks they are suppose to complete.
Also, when we eventually return to school I would also truly love to have a small group table that is the correct size for my students. It is important for students to have the correct size furniture, so they are comfortable while learning!
