This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are busy bees buzzing about from learning centers to small groups instruction with the teacher and aides.
Our class is a melting pot of diverse cultures.
Our school is filled with families who have immigrated from 7 different countries. Our school received limited funding, so buying those extras to help move students above and beyond is difficult to do.
My Project
With students from so many backgrounds and language abilities, whole group instruction just doesn't work. My students are constantly working in small groups, at learning centers, or in a small group with a teacher or aide. An easel would help students during small group instruction have better asses to materials/information close up. Visual and kinesthetic learners would be able to write on the board and have visuals close to them at the small group center. Charts could also be easily accessed to refer back to from previous lessons.
Having an easel in the classroom will allow my students have a more stimulating one on one time and small group instruction with me.
This will help to reinforce the concepts and ideas they are learning in class, helping them to be ready to move on to the next grade prepared.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
