Many students at my school don't have the opportunity to travel that much out of Washington D.C., the number of students that have left the country even less. Traveling exposes children to different possibilities, traveling to Africa gives students the realization of where they come from and how different cultures of black people live around the world!
Help us create a love and enthusiasm for traveling to Africa, even if it can only be for one day!
Student voyages will begin TSA line where their passports will be checked before they can board the plane. Next, they will be escorted by a "flight attendant" to a seat. Of course we won't forget the snacks! Next is the ride... I hope we don't have turbulence. It's time to get off the plan, students with get their passport stamps once the land in Ghana. In Accra, the capital city, students will visit stations that explore Ghanian food, dance, the marketplace, art and history. Last, but not least students will visit a souvenir shop at the airport. A trip of a lifetime in the span of just one day!
