Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are resilient, brilliant, and full of potential. Many of them are English Learners (ELs) navigating not only new academic content but also a new language. To support their success, I am seeking engaging bilingual literature and standards-based test preparation resources that will both celebrate their identities and strengthen their academic English skills. By using bilingual literature in the book titled "And The Earth Did Not Devour Him," students will be able to make connections to powerful thematic vignettes and practice their English reading. Similarly, students will benefit from ELPAC preparation materials that will prepare them for the English Language Proficiency Assessment California
