My Project
My second graders are full of energy, curiosity, and a true love for learning. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to our classroom every day. What makes them so special is their perseverance and excitement, even when things get tough—especially with reading. Many of them are still building the foundational phonics skills they need to become confident, fluent readers. I want to give them tools that not only support their learning but also make it feel joyful and achievable.
The Secret Stories® Decorative Brights Class Kit will transform how my students learn to read.
This resource includes colorful posters, story-based phonics strategies, and catchy songs that will help my students grasp tricky sound-spelling patterns in a way that sticks. My goal for this project is to close reading gaps by making phonics more accessible and fun for every learner. Whether a student is struggling to decode words or needs support with spelling and writing, this kit will provide the consistent reinforcement they need across the day.
