This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Summer should be a time of discovery, imagination, and growth for every child. But, for many students, summer break can mean months without access to engaging books, leading to the "summer slide"—a significant loss of reading skills that can set them back when school resumes.
By donating to my project, you'll provide students with high-interest books to take home and enjoy during their break.
This will provide opportunities to nurture a love for learning and help put books in the hands of eager young readers! My students love reading graphic novels and texts about sports. These low-level, high-interest books are just the right fit for my students!
