My Project
My students are exceptional in their resilience and capacity for growth. They are middle school learners in a special education setting who face significant challenges with reading, many performing several grade levels below their peers. While consistent academic motivation can be a struggle for them, these students are capable and eager to succeed when given the right tools and support. What makes them truly special is their potential—often untapped due to years of academic frustration—and their willingness to engage when learning feels accessible and success feels achievable.
Amira Learning will provide my students with the individualized, research-based support they need to accelerate their reading growth.
This AI-powered reading tutor listens as students read aloud, gives real-time feedback, and delivers personalized interventions in fluency, decoding, and comprehension. With Amira, my students will receive the consistent, targeted instruction that is difficult to deliver one-on-one in a classroom setting. My goal for this project is to close foundational reading gaps, increase reading fluency and confidence, and help students make measurable progress—ideally gaining more than one year of reading growth within a single academic year. This resource will support their academic success and empower them to access more advanced content across all subject areas.
