My Project
What I love most about my students is their curiosity, creativity, and the way they light up when they discover something new. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring so many unique perspectives to our classroom, but one thing they all share is the potential to grow as confident, capable readers. Some of my students are avid readers, while others are still learning to find joy in books—and that’s where manga comes in.
Manga can be a game-changer for students who might feel overwhelmed by dense text or struggle to stay engaged with traditional chapter books.
The visual storytelling, expressive characters, and fast-moving plots in manga help build reading stamina, improve comprehension, and make reading feel like an adventure rather than a chore. These books will give all my students access to reading materials that are fun, relatable, and accessible, helping to build a stronger foundation in literacy and a lifelong love of reading.
