Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
70% of my students in third grade are newcomers to United States and for obvious reasons most of them do not have access to their own technological devise at home yet, so this situation make them to feel unsuccessful when homework requires a computer.
My idea of having extra devices in the classroom, like a laptop and tablet, is to allow some of my students to take the computer home when they have research homework or have to work on a task that requires a computer.
My students are special because even though they recently have arrived to this country, they show great interest participating, arriving day after day on time to class, learning English and completing their schoolwork. Even when it is research or practical work, they stay with me after school to use the computers and finish it.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
