Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My English language learners are resilient, determined students who are learning a new language while mastering grade-level content. This will be my first year teaching in a non-Title I school, where these students may not have access to the same instructional resources often available in Title I settings. I believe every child deserves equitable learning opportunities, regardless of their school's funding. My goal is to provide engaging, supportive instruction that helps students grow in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while building the confidence they need to succeed.

When students can see, interact with, and experience new language, they gain the confidence to take risks, communicate, and thrive academically.

A portable screen and whiteboard will make a tremendous difference in my students' learning. Many of my students learn best when they can see language paired with images, videos, and teacher modeling. The portable screen will allow me to display vocabulary visuals, interactive lessons, and real-world images that make new concepts easier to understand and remember. The whiteboard will enable me to model writing, break down complex directions, highlight key vocabulary, and provide immediate feedback during instruction. Together, these tools will help make abstract ideas more concrete, increase student engagement, and support language development across all modalities. With your support, my students will have the resources they need to fully participate in learning, find their voices, build confidence, and reach their full academic potential.
