Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The diverse selection of books I'm requesting will significantly enhance student learning by expanding their vocabulary. Many of the books feature rich language and introduce students to new words and concepts.

Books help improve reading comprehension The engaging narratives and diverse reading levels will help students build fluency and comprehension skills.

It helps fostering critical thinking. Many of the books encourage critical thinking by exploring complex themes, presenting multiple perspectives, and challenging students to analyze information.

Books help cultivate empathy and understanding. By reading stories about people from different backgrounds and experiences, students will develop empathy and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

My primary goal for this project is to create a vibrant and engaging classroom library that will inspire a love of reading in my students. I also aim to Increase student reading fluency and comprehension. I aim to foster a love of lifelong learning. I want to enhance students' critical thinking and analytical skills.

Create a more equitable and inclusive learning environment for all students.

My high school students are known for a unique blend of qualities that make them special. Living in a rural environment with potential challenges often fosters resilience. Keaau students may demonstrate a strong ability to overcome obstacles and adapt to changing circumstances. Many students in rural areas may have to contribute to family responsibilities alongside their studies, fostering a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.
