Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our small, rural community is comprised of families with diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Many of them struggle with low income and poverty. With this in mind, I want each and every student to feel accepted, included, and represented in our classroom. The multicultural children's books I am requesting will encourage my young students to embrace their individuality while creating an atmosphere of belonging. Multicultural art supplies, such as the Crayola Colors of the World markers and colored pencils, more accurately represent the diverse range of skin tones in our community. Having access to these supplies will allow my students to depict themselves, their families, and their friends in their artwork.
By donating to this project, you will provide my students with multicultural art supplies to celebrate their differences, capture their individuality, build self-esteem, and promote acceptance.
The cardstock, laminator, and laminator sheets will be used to publish, share and protect their written work and illustrations. Every child deserves to feel proud of who they are, their family, and their culture within a safe learning environment. Help them celebrate their uniqueness.
