Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an elementary school that is part of a large school district. My students are enthusiastic learners. Each student has a diverse background with diverse needs in the areas of reading, writing and math. Due to their diverse needs my students are eligible for special education services and are provided services in their areas of unique needs. My students are very excited to learn new concepts along with developing their abilities in their specific areas of need. Many of my students missed out on hands on learning as well as structured learning times due to the pandemic. Due to these missed opportunities my students are still trying to catch up on skills they have missed during the pandemic.

There is a buzz about the more resources available for students with diverse needs, the greater the experience of learning becomes.

In our classroom. My students are provided with many opportunities to discuss what they are learning in small groups, large groups, cooperative learning groups with peers and reading buddies. The more resources available for students with diverse needs, the greater the experience of learning becomes.

My Project

The unique supplies I am requesting will enhance my students learning in several ways:

The Headphones for our classroom set of ChromeBooks will be used daily to help students hear better as well as improving each students ability to focus by not having audio distractions.

The Noise cancelling headphones will allow my students to focus on their academics without distractions from invasive noises from the outside world such as pencil sharpeners, the heater going on and off, and peers talking.

The Scholastic News Magazines in the areas of Science and Reading will give my special education students access to high interest reading topics at each of their individual reading levels.
