Unique Art Therapy Tools for Special Education Students

My Project

I work as a mental health therapist for children in special education.

Much of what I do with the students I work with involves calming activities, which include art projects, creating social stories, and learning new yoga techniques to help them stay calm throughout their day.

Trauma is a huge factor in many of the challenging behaviors I see at school daily, and creative projects provided in a calming and comfy space using soft furniture and bean bag chairs can be very calming for these students.

Art supplies are tools that all of the students I work with enjoy using during their time with me and are easy for all ages to use and benefit from.
