Unicorns Are Magical

My Students

My students attend a Title I school in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn. They are from diverse cultures. Many of my students are from low-income households. Some of my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite those challenges, my students are extremely resilient, eager to learn, and excited to come to school every day.

My Project

Having the right resources in my classroom will make it much easier for me to teach and for my students to learn. For example, my students do a lot of writing on their whiteboards to “show me” that they are understanding what I am teaching. The dry erase markers that they receive will be used for that purpose. Having the bins would make our classroom more organized for all of us and easier for me to teach and for my students to learn. Finally, I believe that having a utility cart to put my laptop on while I am teaching will make it easier for me to teach them as I will be able to move around the room and not remain stationed in one area.
