Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently teach third grade to a diverse group of students in an economically disadvantage area. My students are committed to learning through a variety of modalities.

The students at my school come from low income homes and the majority of them, over 87%, qualify to receive free breakfast and lunch.

The school is a Title I school with a large percentage of the students coming from homes who speak Spanish, thus we have a large number of students who enter school speaking only Spanish.

Thank you so much for the assistance and the opportunity to help my students be successful.

My Project

The Unicef Power Bands will help my students become healthy while at the same time learning to help others in need. My students will monitor their steps via the power bands and earn points to help children in need in countries around the world.

They will learn that there is as much joy in giving as there is in receiving.

While using the Unicef Power Bands my students will learn about different countries they are helping and learn about the beauty of helping others. My students have done this in previous years and have learned so much about themselves and others.
