My students need art supplies for their science projects on plants and animals. We also need a digital microscope to make closer observations of our plants.

My Students
I have a wonderful group of kindergarten students who love learning. Science is of special interest to them, and I try to integrate it into our ELA and math activities.
Our school is in a semi-rural area, and many of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
We also have a food-to-home program at our school to ensure the children have food over the weekend.
My students come to school each day excited to learn and try new challenges. They inspire me to be the very best I can be and to give them experiences that engage and help them grow their brains.
My Project
My students are studying plants and animals and what they need to survive. We have been reading lots of books about plants and animals, and the children love learning about them. I'd like to be able to have my students observe and investigate plant structures by using a digital microscope. We will be growing seedlings and observing their development. The children will observe their plants' growth in different lighting situation. Using observation, my students will discover the best lighting for their plants, and then plan a garden to later transplant their seedlings. Using a digital microscope, my students will be able to closely observe plant parts, for identification. Solving problems by designing and creating plans, directly links to our STEM standards in Kindergarten.
My students will be making digital books using information they gather from their observations.
They will be making drawings of their plant observation, which will then be photographed and uploaded into their digital books.
