Understanding the Conflict in Darfur

My students need books to develop a better understanding of their role as citizens and the conflict in Darfur.

This project is fully funded

I teach 6-8th grade social studies. A huge component of my class, particularly with my 8th graders, focuses on current events and active citizenship.

My students study Africa for a semester. Many have heard of the situation in Sudan but do not truly understand it.

These books will aid them in their study. Some books will be used as class resource books. Others will be used for small group study. Students will read and discuss in small groups.

These students are amazing--- the future of our world. It is vital that they study topics that are relevant to what is happening now in the world.
