Understanding Photosynthesis With Algae Beads

Help me give my students a hands-on way to investigate photosynthesis with these algae beads.

My Project

One of the hardest topics in Biology is Photosynthesis. My students currently have no tangible way to explore the process. Without these algae tubes, the students would have to set up complicated and expensive equipment to record the levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide and wait hours or days to get data.

With these algae beads, students will be able to watch the photosynthesis reaction as it happens.

The solution the beads are in will change colors due to the change in carbon dioxide levels in the tube. The color of the solution can easily be compared to the included color index to determine the rate of photosynthesis. With the quick results, students can take their data and develop further experiments.
