This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is a collaborative preschool inclusion program designed to provide preschool for children ages 3 to 4, while also providing preschoolers with disabilities with an instructional setting in which to interact with their non-disabled peers. We focus on positive interactions with other children and nurturing guidance from teachers by facilitating language enrichment, social skills, and emotional intelligence.

Many of our students have trouble understanding their emotions and navigating social skills.

A Little Spot and Ninja Emotions was designed to teach social-emotional skills in a fun way. Our students all have different experiences with emotions both inside and outside of the classroom. My 3 to 4 year old students have experienced loss of parents and some battle extreme health issues themselves. I strongly believe these resources will help each student in my classroom understand their feelings whether struggling with outside of school emotions or emotions while playing with friends in class.
