This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Creating a reading culture at West Middle School is essential. I want to mentor a group of middle school girls to become lifelong readers.
I am a hardworking librarian trying to instill the love of reading to a group of middle school students .
I am fortunate to be able to serve a variety of students who need additional support when it comes to reading. My goal is for our middle school students to develop a passion or love for reading. I am looking for new ways to motivate students to become readers for life.
My Project
Middle school often marks the transition to an active social life for tweens. Book clubs provide girls with tremendous educational, social, and self-esteem-boosting benefits. Reading isn't always considered cool, but a book club is a way for your middle school girls to take control of her reading. By getting their friends involved and also finding new friends.
For many girls, middle school comes with power struggles, conflicting impulses, physical growth and strong emotions.
This book club will help middle-school girls develop deep and close friendships or bonds that will last for a lifetime.
Reading a good book can help girls not only bond but help each other through struggles they may face.
