My Students
Our school is a small Title I school in Derby, KS. We have 270 students in our school and approximately 70% are on free or reduced price meals. Our students are comprised of a variety of races, ethnicities and backgrounds.
At our school, we are a family and we know that relationships greatly impact a student's ability to succeed in the classroom.
We believe in our students and we want to send them out in to the world as tolerant, accepting and open minded individuals.
My Project
These emotions Duplos will help students learn about emotions while having fun! My students love to play with Legos so these emotions Duplos will be a fun twist. The blocks will be used to better understand our emotions and what causes them. The thinking putty will be used as a tool to help students cope with anxiety. The putty can be used in the classroom or in my office. Both of these items will help my students with social emotional growth: one will be used to teach a better understanding of emotions and one will be used to teach how to use tools to deal with those emotions.
