This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We gather each day in our Title One classrooms and strive to teach with the tools and curriculum that we have gathered. Our students love to unravel the mysteries that they are challenged with while in science class, but often forget what they have learned once we move on to the next unit. The ability to review topics and study the visuals at any time via the online lessons, will be of tremendous value to our students.

Even at their age, these young 'scientists understand that they can have an impact on protecting the Earth.

Earth Science instruction is a necessity. It provides a platform for students to discuss all kinds of topics that are the foundation to saving our planet.

I teach in a Special Education-Collaborative classroom and we have a variety of curious minds. But the one thing that all of them have in common, is a desire to understand and to seek solutions for things that are unknown to them. As we transition to our Science class, I notice that the students sit up a little taller, their eyes open a little wider, and their bodies move to try and find out what we will be doing that day. Many of our kiddos understand certain processes, but still require additional support to help them retain the information and enforce the concepts taught at school. With the funding of my project, I will have a way to support the diversity in my classroom.
