My Students

We are 60 fun, smart 5th graders who read, write, and learn all day. We are a Title One school in a small town, but we have a fairly diverse group of learners.

My students come to school every day, excited for what is to come.

Our school pledge is to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn - and they are!

I love providing a diverse selection of reading material for them - fiction and nonfiction, graphic and text, all levels, all topics! Thank you for helping to support us!

My Project

There are so many stories of courage, strength, perseverance, and heroism from World War II. Louis Zamperini's is one that is not easily forgotten. A class set of the young adult adaptation of Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand would allow us to read his story and apply it to our study of World War II.

My students would love hearing Louis Zamperini's story of courage and strength as we study World

War II.

A set of 25 books will be shared between my 60 students as part of a book study on World War II. We would love to read and discuss the language, events, and political undercurrents portrayed in this young adult adaptation of the amazing adult bestseller. Thank you for your help!
