This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a low-income/high poverty school, where many students receive free lunch. My students also come to school just learning how to speak English. I am working hard to prepare my students for success in high school and college.

My 1st grade class is made up of 20 amazing scholars who are excited and ready to learn every day!

My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Even with those challenges, my students enjoy being at school because it makes them feel safe and loved.

My Project

Throughout the school day, we use our iPads for personalized learning. My students love the different apps they get to use during the learning day. Currently, we have 5 working headphones with extremely long wires. These headphones tend to only work when placed in the perfect position, which is instantly ruined by a student tripping over the wires. Most of the students don't even bother trying the headphones, which can make our classroom very noisy.

Wireless headphones would change our classroom atmosphere!

The students would be able to get right to work on an iPad instead of fiddling with the headphones and the students not working on iPads would have a quiet atmosphere to learn in.
