My students are from the Chicagoland area and are in fifth grade. These students attend a diverse school district and come from diverse backgrounds. Students are challenged every day to excel and achieve.
This opportunity help us build our classroom library will inspire a love of learning and a deep connection to the subject matter, which is vital to learning.
The students I teach will learn and grow both in academics and social emotionally, helping them to be good citizens and lifelong learners.
These books will help my students to learn and grow in numerous ways. These books will help them to travel to places only known to them through the pages of a book. They will learn and explore about different cultures and ideas. Through this exploration of characters and unknown places, young people will learn empathy, problem solving, honor and courage.
We will be participating in the Forty Book Challenge this year.
New, interesting and dynamic reading materials will keep students engaged and interested. These books will be a good motivator to keep up with the pacing of reading a book a week!
