This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the pleasure of teaching kindergarten at a Two-Way Bilingual Immersion school in a 90/10 model. About 96% of my students come from English-speaking homes (students speak English only) and come to school enthusiastic to learn Spanish!

Make our learning more interactive!

Teaching Spanish to a English-speaking only class is already very challenging, but with the use of an easel, students can be more engaged and participate more.

I believe in their capabilities and feel honored to help them get a great start in Kindergarten!

My Project

Kindergarten students spend the majority of instructional time in the carpet or at centers. This easel will make it easier for students to see me model writing and reading behaviors. Students will also get to participate in lessons more efficiently because they will be able to reach the board.

This easel will literally be used all day!

Students will walk in the door every morning and see a morning message on the board, we will then use this board for phonics instruction, writing, reading, and math.

This steel-frame easel has a magnetic write and wipe surface on each side: One is blank for drawing and demonstrating concepts, and one has permanent 1 1/2" lines for writing. Plus, it has a handy tray for displaying books...rings to hang charts and tablets...even a roomy shelf for supplies.
