My Project

My students have been gifted an amazing 125 gallon tank from a local donor, and we would like help making it into the ultimate Turtle and Tropical Fish habitat! Our class have chosen an aquatic turtle for a "class pet" and have researched the ideal environment, and suitable Tropical Fish tankmates that could live in harmony!

We need the supplies to turn a 125 gallon tank into the ultimate Turtle and Tropical fish paradise!

While we have been gifted the tank, we need the supplies to make sure that any animals we bring into our classroom can live long and happy lives.

Our students will learn about each species of Fish and Turtle they choose to put into the tank. They will learn about the nitrogen cycle and how bacteria in the water and filters can turn harmful ammonia into nitrogen that will feed the live plants in the aquarium. Most of all they will be rescuing a turtle from the local reptile rescue and providing it with an amazing home, while also learning about plant and animal life!
