My Students

I teach 4th and 5th-grade students in an economically disadvantaged, urban elementary school. Our self-contained classroom is designed for students with behavioral disabilities. We utilize a point system based on positive reinforcement. Students earn points for pro-social and pro-academic behaviors.

I need culturally responsive and trauma-informed materials to create highly motivating educational experiences for my amazing kids.

Help me guide them to be kind, safe, and hardworking students! They will succeed in the classroom and beyond with your support!

My Project

We recently created a "cool down" area in our self-contained classroom for children with disabilities. It is affectionately referred to as "the forest" since we have a tapestry and astroturf. However, students have expressed that they want to use the forest for more than just "cool-downs".

Please help me create an additional space that can be used by students to complete assignments independently.

Flexible seating options can reduce behavior issues and motivate students. The indoor "grass", additional wall hanging and most importantly the comfortable and safe seating will create a therapeutic learning environment for my kind and hard-working students.
