Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Last year we started our Ukulele program with our second graders. This year we have added a new grade-level and we want to continue growing our program until our school fully implements the Ukulele Program school wide! In order to achieve our dream of being a performing arts Ukulele Magnet School, we need to supply our Music Room with all the necessary tools so that our students can continue to learn and grow into amazing musicians.
Our dream is for our school to stand out as the gem of the valley and show off our amazing Ukulele performers.
Our students have embraced the ukulele program and are now participating in the after school strummers class to continue to practice their musical skills. Many of our students are students with disabilities and they have begun to shine and come out of their shells thanks to the implementation of our Ukulele program. Our stands will allow the freedom to be able to follow music sheets, and practice on their own. The tuners will allow them to strengthen their listening skills so that they can begin to own their ukulele and tune independently.
