This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am writing this proposal for my students who participate in our music program. Our elementary school serves a large urban area with a high percentage of students from low-income homes. Our student body is culturally diverse, allowing our school community to experience languages and customs from many cultures as we interact daily.

Many of my students do not have the opportunity to explore and experience high-quality music instruction outside of the school setting.

Seeing them grow in their knowledge and excitement of music is exciting. Many of our students will continue participating in music at the high school level.

We are requesting three new ukuleles for music classroom learning. Our collection of ukuleles is getting old, and some are worn out. It is time for us to begin replacing some of our ukuleles that are on their last leg. Learning how to play ukuleles is the perfect challenge for my students. We learn practical music skills like note reading, rhythm training, basic chords, and beginning playing techniques.
