Help me give my students a class set of the book Ugly which is a biography memoir that will allow my students to become familiar with individual struggles of a young boy who is "different" physically.
My students are driven, curious, and excited children who want to learn about new things. They try their hardest at everything they are challenged with. They come from a neighborhood of farmers and hard-working individuals. They are starting with the new idea of 3D science-student exploration to learn science practices and content and STEM learning. This requires them to question and explore in order to answer their own questions. 3D science supports students' creativity and self-fulfillment while taking ownership of​ their own learning.
My Project
My students will be able to hold a book as we read the amazing content. We will be able to have in depth discussions of the text and look back into the book to help understand what it is sharing with us. Reading a memoir of someones real life will be so influential.
There is power in holding a book as you read it.
Students will take pride in being able to pick this book up and read with our class. We will find the beauty in not only reading but understanding others lives and the struggles in life that make us stronger.
