Eleven years ago I posted my second DonorsChoose project with these words "UG! We've been living with an industrial old and ugly rug. The addition of a large concept carpet will brighten and cozy up the classroom and add a host of learning opportunities throughout the day." And eleven years ago I had tears in my eyes as I unrolled it. It has brightened the room and elevated the learning with its alpha, numeric, colors and shapes design. To say that it has been loved is an understatement.
Well we are still living with our industrial ugly grey carpet, except now as a result of a massive classroom rearrangement due COVID distancing rules, we've opened up the area, and now have more of it.
Because of their ages and learning experiences, and in some cases, because of their disabilities, my students spend a great deal of time on the floor. We need an additional colorful concepts carpet for our keiki.
